Connecting the Front Line to the Bottom Line

RLG International

RLG International is a consulting firm with a unique approach to performance improvement through a focus on workforce engagement and Critical Path execution. Since 1983, RLG has been successfully engaging front line workers on operational and capital projects to deliver dramatic and visible performance improvement. It is proud of its reputation for integrity and does not take on a project if there is no opportunity for significant measurable progress.
~
Understanding the service that RLG International provides requires the knowledge of what it does not do. RLG drives step change improvements in the execution of strategic plans, but it is not involved in reorganizations; it does not do any downsizing and it does not do mergers and acquisitions. Its clients already have a plan, a process and a team that is looking to deliver more out of its resources, its people and its skills. RLG helps clients leverage existing resources, capability and experience to deliver aggressive improvement targets.

The Original Concrete Densification Company

The Original Concrete Densification Company

Curecrete Distribution, Inc.

Curecrete Distribution, Inc. is the original concrete densification company. It distributes a variety of concrete floor finishing products which are centered on densified and densified-polished concrete. Its sister company, Curecrete Chemical, is the manufacturer of the products that Curecrete Distribution sells through its global distribution network.
~
Concrete densification is a chemical induced process that produces permanent inorganic crystal growth in the surface pores of the concrete, resulting in a denser, harder, and more durable wear surface. Densified concrete is not achieved by using a topical coating that can wear away with time. Its effects are permanent. With normal foot traffic and wear, a shiny marble-like appearance develops and the crystals within the pores make it very difficult for contaminants like oil, water, and other substances to penetrate it. It also seals in concrete salts, effectively making the concrete dustproof and much easier to clean.

AT Films was founded in 2002 and mainly performed coating of optics for medical lasers and some research applications. In 2011, the IDEX Corporation acquired AT Films, and a year later, it bought Precision Photonics. Creative Pultrusions

Pultrusion is a portmanteau that combines ‘pull’ and ‘extrusion’ as materials are pulled through the process. It refers to a continuous manufacturing method for composite materials. Founded in 1973, Creative Pultrusions, Inc. is the premier provider of custom fiberglass-reinforced polymer pultrusion products for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) companies in the United States.
~
Creative Pultrusions’ engineers have a total of well over one hundred years of combined technical experience in pultrusion and the variety of composite materials involved. The company manufactures specialized fiberglass structural profiles by impregnating the fibers with resins. This is a complex process, but the general idea is that the resins provide the material with certain advantageous properties such as resistance to corrosion, impact, and ultraviolet light. The company uses same process to construct carbon fiber materials as well.

At the Forefront of a Growing Industry

At the Forefront of a Growing Industry

Euflora

This is the third article Business in Focus has undertaken with the highly popular Colorado recreational dispensary. Euflora is a true example of how to flourish in a new industry. Cannabis and its by-products have now been legal since 2014 in Colorado, and infrastructure is improving, schools are being built, and affordable housing is on the rise. It is also important to note that crime rates have gone down, and the number of drunk driving charges has fallen. It sounds completely unlike the dystopian world naysayers had predicted.
~
Despite all the obvious advantages, Euflora has had to work hard to expand and become legitimate in the eyes of the federal government. When last we spoke, in November of 2016, Euflora was still running a cash business and constantly worried about being robbed. Its attempt at a license in Thornton fell through, and barriers to entry were still prohibitive.

WeedMD

Canada’s cultural landscape is changing with the legalization of recreational marijuana. We will become one of the few countries in the world to legitimize this much-maligned plant, and if the experiments with legalization in the U.S. have taught us anything, it is that the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. Suffice it to say that this cash crop juggernaut will have positive implications.
~
Presently, many corporations are vying for the right to produce cannabis for the government, which has decided to distribute through its agencies such as the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO). The hurdles are a little daunting, but WeedMD has a distinct advantage; it has been in the medical marijuana business for over four years and is good at what it does. Bolstered by scientific methods and having all the necessary licensing, it is ready for the windfall to come. We spoke with its Chief Financial Officer and Director Keith Merker.

However, the air and electrical connections are the company’s main focus, specifically tractor to trailer connections and the various connections within the tractor or trailer that are associated with pneumatic air brakes, electrical systems or even electronic signals. Electronic signals are becoming more common in heavy duty applications.

Diversified Economic Growth

Diversified Economic Growth

Logan County, CO

The Logan County Economic Development Corporation non-profit organization was created in 2001 to manage business inquiries, handle prospective businesses that are looking to relocate sites and work with existing business on potential expansion opportunities. It also assists with any other demands that may be present in the community including workforce limitations, training needs or housing issues. It facilitates discussions between local government amenities and local offices to help processes run as smoothly as possible.
~
Logan County was officially established in 1887 as an agricultural community in northeast Colorado. Cattle production was one of the first industries in the area, dating back to cattle baron John W. Iliff in the 1870s. Sugar beet production was another one of the earliest industries introduced to the area, and the Great Western Sugar Mill in Sterling was built in 1905, which encouraged new immigration to the county from those looking to work in the industry. Today the former sugar mill sits vacant and idle on nearly 200 acres of industrial developable land. One of the few places in Colorado with existing rail infrastructure served by both the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroads, LCEDC has hopes that investment will someday bring the iconic property back into productive use.
