Canadian multinational content-driven technology conglomerate Thomson Reuters Corp. and investment firm KKR have signed a deal to form a joint venture that will see KKR gain a 51 percent stake in Global Print for US$500 million.
Global Print provides legal and tax information in print format via ProView, its eBook platform, in addition to the provision of commercial printing services which it offers to book publishers.
The deal will leave Thomson Reuters with a 49 percent interest in the company while it maintains intellectual property rights and full editorial control. The JV will hold an exclusive distribution license for print and ProView platforms. The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions of closing. It is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
