Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort

Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort is a privately owned corporation, located on Deerfield Beach, Florida. It was built by the Chase Family who have owned and operated it since day one. Dedicated to being “responsive and respectful,” Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort is in the business of delivering a great experience to each of its guests, and making them feel at home.
Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort is a full-service hotel with 172 rooms, a ballroom, and meeting space, totaling about 4,500 square feet. “We can accommodate weddings up to 180 people and meetings up to 250 people,” says Julian Felder, General Manager of Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort.

There is no lack of dining either, as Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort boasts three distinctive restaurants on its premises with entirely different menus and different cuisines. “There is the Patio Bar and Grill which is a very popular, casual restaurant facing the beach and the ocean, featuring traditional American cuisine and lots of tropical drinks,” says Felder. “There is the more upscale Italian Café Med restaurant, which features authentic Italian cuisine, and then there is the casual Burger Craze restaurant which features a nice bar, burgers, wings, and hot dogs,” he says.

“We also have authentic Italian gelato at the very popular Vaniglia E Cioccolato Gelateria,” says Felder. “So, we have something for everyone. There aren’t very many hotels that feature restaurants that are doing quite well, and we have three – all of which have live entertainment.” All three restaurants are listed on Trip Advisor among top ten restaurants in Deerfield Beach.

Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort was built from ground zero. “There was an empty lot right across from the beach, and in 1969, David Chase had a vision,” says Felder. “He decided to build a hotel. It was opened in 1971 as a Howard Johnson hotel and has been owned, managed, and operated by him and his family ever since.”

The owners believe their guests deserve the best. “The hotel has gone through many internal renovations and upgrades,” says Felder. “The ownership is very generous and believes in investing in the hotel. It’s constantly updating and renovating its top-quality furniture and fixtures; everything has to be in outstanding condition. This has always been the ownership’s philosophy on running this hotel,” Felder shares.

“In 2010, the ownership decided to do a major renovation,” he says. “Basically, the hotel was shut down for about six months, completely gutted and a new hotel was built. It re-opened as Wyndham Hotel – a four-star accommodation.”

Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort is very proud of its product. “Since 2011, we have done complete renovations. Our ocean-front rooms are spectacular. They feature wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows. So, if you are in one of our ocean-front rooms (which are the majority of our rooms), you are basically facing the beach and the ocean – you look at the spectacular sunrise in the morning, and the beautiful beach throughout the day,” says Felder.

Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort is centrally located, halfway between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. “As far as flying in, we are relatively easy and convenient to access,” says Felder. “We are approximately 20 or 30 miles away from both airports.”

Its location is just one aspect that sets the resort apart. “I believe we have the most ideal location,” says Felder. “We are directly across from a very quaint, pristine, safe, clean beach – one of the nicest ones in south Florida. There’s a village-like atmosphere here; the height of the buildings is limited to 55 feet, so there are no tall buildings, skyscrapers, et cetera. It looks like old Florida. It reminds a lot of people of how things used to be, yet the buildings are modern and clean. There are shops, restaurants, entertainment, sporting activities, all within walking distance. You can come here for a week or so, and have no need for a car, because everything is pretty much around us – it is a total destination.”

Another reason credited for the business’ success is its dedication to offer the best service. “Our goal is to provide outstanding service and a great experience to all the guests, and to exceed their expectations,” says Felder. “That’s our main goal. And it shows in the reviews we are receiving.”

Indeed, Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort is especially proud of its reviews. “This is probably our number one achievement,” says Felder. “Our reviews are excellent and they have actually helped us get new business. We are very proud to have been the number one hotel on Trip Advisor in Deerfield Beach for five consecutive years,” he shares.

“In 2016, we were voted Wyndham Property of the Year – the number one Wyndham hotel in the system,” says Felder. “We also received the Best of Wyndham Award for our reviews, which is not just Trip Advisor but a combination of all the reviews from all different sites. And because of quality assurance, every year we have an inspection by Wyndham and we are among the top Wyndham hotels, with an almost perfect score.”

In keeping with Wyndham’s culture, Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort has a ‘Count On Me!’ commitment. “What that means is we’re training and inspiring all employees to really participate and be very proactive,” says Felder.

“We have always practiced this, even before becoming Wyndham. Our service is not only special, but it’s very genuine – it comes from the heart. “We are not asking employees to simply smile and show happy faces. Sometimes when people do this, they don’t mean it. Our employees are really genuine. It comes from everybody; it just comes naturally. We want our guests to be comfortable. So it’s very simple, normal service, where we’re trying to make guests feel like this hotel is their home away from home,” explains Felder.

“Everybody acts professionally. But at the same time, it’s not snobbish; it’s very casual. People feel relaxed and very comfortable here, and that’s what we’re trying to do. We try to treat our guests like family members.”

Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort is deservedly proud of its reputation. “We have a lot of repeat guests,” says Felder. “People just love coming back because they feel like this is their home. We have many companies, corporate clients, sports teams and associations that come back every year, and there are even two groups who have been staying with us for four weeks at a time for the last 18 years. Because this is a place where people feel comfortable, they keep coming back.”

Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort aims to be “responsive, respectful and to deliver a great experience.” “This is obviously primarily toward the guests, but it’s also toward other fellow employees,” says Felder. “We are like one big family. Most of our employees have been here for a long time – 20, 25, or 30 years. We have longevity, and a lot of loyalty. We work together and we have known each other for a long time. And our guests appreciate coming back to the same smiling faces.”

There is no doubt, the future looks bright and sunny for Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort as it remains on top, and continues to lead the way in terms of business, occupancy, guest satisfaction and reviews.
